Balancing and Alignment

I've searched and searched and really haven't been able to find where someone has had the same exact problem. But, at around 55, 62, 70, and 75 my steering wheel will shake like MC hammers back up dancers. But then after driving for a while , say maybe, 5-10 minutes, the shake will become less severe and the steering wheel will shake but the vehicle will still follow a line perfectly. I've had it balanced and rebalanced multiple times, both dual plane and single plane balancing , along with an alignment. But I am still having the weird vibration problem that I can't seem to relate to anyone else's that i've read about.

There are other things that can cause the vibration.

Ball Joints.....Tie-Rods.

Could also be a engine mounts.

Take the vehicle to a mechanic...NOT just a tire guy.

I'll get my mechanic to check it. I'll run it up there tomorrow if I have time, good thing they'll usually let me jump in line, thanks for the input.

Does it continue when you let off the gas? Does it only happen when it is cold? Have you rotated the tires and it still happens? Does it go away when you turn to the left or right?

The description sounds like out of balance or out of round tires, but there could be other things that cause it. I would rule out any suspension problems like ball joints or tie rods since you say that you had it aligned. They can not align a car with bad suspension parts.

Depends on where you take it. A GOOD alignment shop will tell you if there are any suspension issues. But many shops doing alignment these days have a kid who took the 2 week course and thinks he has the knowledge to do alignments. Most don't have any mechanical experience besides tires and alignments.

It continues when I let off the gas. and it happens most the time on cold starts, but it will do it no matter what sometimes too. it's quite odd. I'll get him to check parts again to to make sure nothing is bad, i mean the truck does have 135k on it but most things have been replaced.
