Using a press sleeve kit that will fit over the ball joint will allow you to press out the ball joint without cutting anything.

By far and away the best money I've spent has been a $150 20-ton press at HF to push out that aggravating as hell UBJ. I don't consider myself a weak man, but using those rented presses solo was rage inducing and a pretty sure fire way to blow your back out.

You can drive to HF, buy the press, drive home, assemble it, and press out the UBJ in the same amount of time it takes you to do it with those rented tools.

And to make it even easier, order the Total Chaos adapters TOTAL CHAOS FABRICATION. If not, you can either grind off the top of the joint, or I think you have to rent either the 4wd or special Toyota adapters from an auto store (what usually comes w/the tool isn't the right size as I recall)
