I would agree.
Forums are a great resource, but many are just tired of all the bs that comes with them. Once you sellout, add pop-ups, more rules, membership fees, and so on. People just loose interest or find an alternative.
I wish this forum could go back to 3-4 years ago when things were good.

This is where I just don't understand people.
I'm using adblock, and honestly am not bothered by ads whatsoever.
Furthermore, I was born squarely in the middle of the "Facebook" generation, but I won't touch that pile of shit unless I have too. Forums are hands-down the best place for storing and finding information.
I haven't seen one interesting build on Facebook, Instafam, or whatever else the cool kids are using nowadays. The critical failure is the inability to build a cohesive timeline of posts so people can see a nice evolution of discussion happen.
I agree that it was probably a better place a few years ago (before instagram), but I refuse to let that kill the forums. If nothing else, I'll just have to be the change I want in the forums.
