The safari uses a Tacoma intake that bolts in place to the core support and the snorkel only bolts to the fender. Then a rubber boot is used to connect the 2 tubes together.
That makes sense, thanks for the information. I didn't want to spend the money on the Tacoma intake. Plus I wanted to keep the air path nice and smooth with no sharp corners or size reductions. Also, I think sandwiching all the parts together to the fender will be a very robust assembly.
