Bang for the Buck? What are some inexpensive after market upgrades?

I just bought a 2008 Sport Edition and I'm in l-o-v-e.

Any ideas on upgrades/after-market additions/accessories that will spice up this beast without putting me in the poor house? :help:

I guess that all depends on what you consider inexpensive. You can do the following for under $100:

1.Tint the front windows (Illegal, but most of us have done it)
2.Window Visors (Allow you to have the window cracked without getting rained on)
3. Upgrade the headlight bulbs to Sylvania Silverstar or equivalent

or for a few more washingtons you can change the look of your T4R with a Cornfed 2/1 lift for around $260-280 thats installing it yourself.

This has proven to be a hard question to answer seeing as how many after market additions cost mucho dinero these days. Good luck, hope these suggestions point you in some direction.

Can you elaborate on what that lift would entail? Is that a 2" lift? Sorry I don't know much about lifts but am interested in doing one on my 4runner. How hard is it to install myself?

Are these rear view mirrors universal to fit? 'Cause I want them on my '01.

yes they are, the best first upgrade i did, all they do is clip over the stock ones, works great, no more blind spots.

My other best mod. Seat covers (Neosporene type). Front and back. They are not "cheap" but they save my factory seat many times. My seat still like new and I used them hard for camping others.

Yeah, got the mirrors in last week. Didn't realize how wide it was 'til it got here, lol. But I like it, only flaw is I can't bring down the drivers/passengers window visors without hitting the mirror.

I've got the squash freshener in my Runner already! Smells great. But I think I need a replacement soon since I got it a 3-4 months ago.
