There is only 1 bank of oxygen sensors. Do you need sensor 1 (upstream) or sensor 2 (downstream)?

The O2 sensor is nothing to skimp on. I’m using the NTK sensor in my rig but the price is similar to the Denso brand.

Denso 234-9002 is the upstream oxygen sensor. I have not had good luck with ebay/amazon and oxygen sensors. I've received a couple convincing knock offs. Summit racing sells it though. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...PoWKTRnXuWI1n0cj5qoIYMQ70DmXhKdAaAhHkEALw_wcB

There isn't any cheaper option unless you get a used one from a pick and pull that's functional.


Rock Auto, auto parts stores are the only ledgit stores denso parts.

Sadly extremely easy to get counterfeit parts from those sources..

Yes. The emmision rules changed in 2000 for model year 2001 so that's how Toyota did meet the change.

Gotcha, thanks. That makes it always easier for identifying CA vs Fed emissions vehicles when future searching for a new 3rd gen! Thanks man!

Yup... Feds only one cat 1996-1999
CA 2 cats 1996-2000
all 3rd gens 2 cats 2001-2002..
