Mag Grey is not that much different than black IMO. If you want something different go red. I saw a red 5th gen for the first time the other day and it looked great. I could probably deal with red but inferno looks better in someone else's garage. Grey does show scratches easily.

Now look at this Mag gray & ask yourself ? :iagree:

Jk, but between the two I would go with RED. Stands out much more.


That being said, the black does look good, especially with the blue metallic flake Toyota added into the paint...just saying

PIA to keep clean but that should be a given

The red looks nice. And is growing on me.

When I bought mine, I let the dealer know that it was between mag grey, blue or black. Black and blue were hard to come by.
So the mag grey was the first avail in the way that I wanted it.

I originally wanted the grey but the wife wanted red so I got the red and I gotta say I love it. Plus it looks amazing after a good wash and wax. Too many grey, silver and dark colored cars on the road as it is.

Great color, almost got used 2014 TEP (15k on it), was $500 apart from making a deal. But took a closer look and it shows scratches horribly. Contrast white/light gray vs dark blue. Was a deal killer for me.

Saw few used (2012, 2013, 2011) Mag Gray and Silver. Mag Gray was surprisingly great at 'hiding' scratches. Was impressed with it.

I looked for Mag Gray TEP in Chicago area for months..... Did not find a single one in stock! Plenty of SR5s.

BTW, heading to dealer later today. Hope to finalize a deal on 2015 TEP (Silver).
Got them down to $36.2k, only option on it was stock all weather mats including for cargo area.

Mag grey of course. I blacked out all the silver trim, threw some black wheels on it and it looks mean! My color choice order was white, black, then gray, but after what I thought was settling with my 3rd choice, I now wouldn't trade it for anything, except maybe inferno red! Anyway, white is a clean color, always bought white cars but on a truck not as tough looking. Black looks awesome if you maintain it. Ain't nobody got time for that, at least not on a truck. And since I blacked out everything, mag gray gives me a better contrast then all black.

As for barcelona red, I do not like,; it is darker then what I prefer for red cars. I loved the 2012 FJ Cruiser TT in "fire truck" red and the TRD pro in inferno red so I am not biased against red at all!

Tough choice!! I love the way the red stands out...I love my mag grey tho!! looks best with everything else blacked out IMHO...

I don't think I've seen a barcelona red around my area. Is it really red or somewhere between red and almost maroon?

There is no hint of maroon in it at all like a lot of lolder Toyota colors have been in the past. However it is not an overly light red. I mean it is very solidly red and bright in the sun, but it has a tad of darkness to it that I think makes it seem a bit more "sophoisticated" than say the pure primary colors used on the FJs for example.

If there are times it looks a bit maroonish in photos I htink it's due to the sky relecting off the clearcoat/polish changing the color a bit.

I just posted the perfect picture to gauge the "redness" of the Barcelona Red color.

At the far end is an older toyota red that is definately maroonish. And then the Barcelona Red on the two front runners. Then behind us the tanks are a full bright primary red like the colors they used on the FJs. So you can see that it is a bit darker but still very red. "Ruby Red" maybe? I really like it

If you don't keep cars long then get whatever color you want. If you keep them for a long time, red will be a tad tougher to maintain than gray.... but the red looks absolutely fantastic as we can see in pics (especially with a black hood!!). I want as low maintenance as possible so I'm usually pretty boring and go with silver and gray.

My 4runner is MGM and my Taco is Barcelona Red. Hands down MGM looks better, but I do like the red on the taco, but wouldn’t like it as much on the 4Runner. Think the chrome accents help the taco pull it off better.
