Battery light always on

Hi guys , I've had this 4runnner for a little bit more than a year now and since i've bought it , the battery light has been on the whole time .
I've check the voltage with a multimeter and it is charging properly (around 14,14.5 volts)

I've noticed that the ground on the battery terminal is not the original one , the old one probably rusted out and the last owner just installed a new one ..
I wonder if some of you guys have or had this problem with the 4Runner , It's running fine and even if I don't use it for a month it will start , but It would suck to have the truck die on me in middle of no where!!

If it sits for a month and starts right up, that's really good !
The problem is probably with the charge light circuit.
I've never really had a problem with it myself, but it can happen.
The fact that it' sit's a month and starts, plus it's charging at greater than 13.8 V, indicates everything else (batt and alt) is OK.

Thanks for the answer , cause yeah this winter i was gone for 4 weeks and the temp was really cold (minus 15 to minus 30 Celcius) and when I came back it started fine

i had that problem once i kicked my circuit breaker getting in and once i wiggled that the light stopped glowing. might be worth a shot un plug it and plug it back in takes 5 seconds.

My battery light was on for a while and I thought nothing of it. Then all of the sudden my radio stopped working and a couple days later my headlights, tail lights and side markers blew out. turns out my alternator was overcharging and blew everything. When I tested my alternator it was charging at about 15v and I thought it was fine. I guess while I was driving it was charging much more. Make sure you keep an eye on this.
