battery preferences??

after i bought my 4runner i realized it has a refurbished triple a battery in it haha. replacing it this week and was wondering what you guys were running in yours??

I agree. I used to run optima, but they have gone downhill recently. But those are your top contenders. Usually find them for a great price too.

Duralast Platinum or Die Hard Platinum. Stick with AGM. If your AAA battery isn't giving you problems you might want to wait and watch for a sale on the Die Hard. My friend picked one up about 2 years ago for $155 which is an excellent price.

Duralast Gold is a great battery for the money... I like Interstate Megatron too, but you'll pay for those

Diehard Platinum replaced my optima red top when it died after two years.
Have a duralast gold in my turbo miata.
No complaints with either one.
If you go for a diehard platinum watch sears for the monthly specials to help with price.

Duralast Gold if you are not hard core off-road. I have had the same one since December 07.

Otherwise, as Kevin and others have said, AGM is the way to go.

Optima has gone south in reliability in recent years. Way south.

thanks for the input guys. my buddies father in law sells batteries in bulk to companies so i can get a good deal through him. ill have to look into warranties though.. so maybe not through him

What do you use your 4Runner for? I use a simple Kirkland battery and have no complaints... And it's from Costco, so that's always a plus.

If I were running a winch and a crazy sound system I'd probably be running a Diehard Platinum.
