I don't think he would have to take a picture. It's pretty obvious. Basically in mine... I would not be able to lift your battery straight up. I would have to tip the right side up so that left front corner could clear that metal brace.

Not much, just maybe an inch. It's just enough that you can't drop it straight down. It would have to sort of swing in on an arc.

That's exactly right, I didn't understand what you were getting at first sorry. You have to shoehorn it in a little but nothing major.

Not yet, got tied up with business and other matters. As soon as I get a chance though that's pretty much next. The only thing I did notice was some that had to make some different J-Hooks as the ones from Shrockworks were too short and the 'hook' end has a specific bend in it.

They were made to size right for Optima supposedly. I haven't even had a chance to take them out and measure. Not sure if these are made longer now or what.

The thread I saw, the person bought some new longer hooks and used Mapp gas to heat and re-bend hook to the needed shape.

That's really the only concern I have now and that''s easily cured if needed at all.

Good GOD this is an informational thread! Thanks to everyone. A lot to think about. I have a Group 31 battery and the stock one, a fairly OEM engine bay and am trying to be smart about a dual battery setup.

I have accessories mounted in all 3 of the other corners under the hood so I went with the Genesis dual battery system in the stock location. Its a smart system that makes sure the cranking battery is charged enough( at 13.7V for 2 minutes) then automatically connects the aux battery and starts charging both at same time.

And If I remember right if it sees the cranking battery drop below 12.7v while vehicle is off it disconnects them automatically to save it for cranking later. Seems like a pretty good kit. It uses two Odysee extreme group 25 batteries.

I got the optional G-screen too which I mounted on my dash so I can see the voltage of each battery and manually connect them or disconnect them at any time

Thats the expedition One washer bottle kit. both front and rear come out of the same bottle and yes I use it alot on dusty forest roads and such and bugs lol

That was done because the factory one stuck out the front like sore thumb after installing the addicted offroad bumper and was prone to getting punctured by a rock or stick when off roading thus why Expedition One created that kit...for aftermarket bumpers

If it was me I'd keep the starting battery stock, install a dual battery kit on the passenger side with one of the aftermarket options, and invest in a nice solar setup to keep your aux batt topped off. These can be hard wired into a roof rack to run all the time, or you could set it up at camp as-needed. Simple and gives you real off the grid power capabilities.

This is exactly what I did. I actually run everything off of the stock battery and use the passenger side mounted battery as essentially a backup starter battery. The batteries are automatically connected when charging via a Blue Sea solenoid and can be force connected via a button in the cabin. I charge the batteries at camp via a solar panel blanket that I tie to the roof rack.

Genesis off-road dual battery tray/connections with a spod for all the accessories. Avoids main electrical system and main battery. Can even hook up a dc/dc charger if you have a smart alternator which I think 2020 models do.

Just a thought and not totally in harmony with this thread but for "meditation" does it make sense that relocating the stock battery to the passenger side and leaving the stock location empty would be of ANY benefit with the weight balance of 4Runner? Stock battery in FRONT of front wheel now, moving it behind of any benefit at all?
Just a thought.
