Bearing and Axle replaced - what is the cost?

hey guys - i have a 97 4runner sr5 edition 2wd w/ 268K miles!

i have been hearing a "wobble" noise and thought it was my front end but my mechanic told me it was the rear passenger side bearing. he is not sure if the axle needs replacing or not. he thinks it might due to the high mileage.

i do not drive off road.

here's my question - can you estimate how much this should be?

also, after reviewing some other forms i noticed with the bearings issue that seals are to be replaced..... is that true? he hasn't mentioned anything about my "seals"

if we are replacing the axle and bearings what other parts should be replaced at this time too? i want to make sure it gets done all at the same time and that my car last another 100K miles!

If the axle is bent, you will need to replace it. Usually they will break before bending.

I have a complete Axle half with bearing, brake parts ,drum and backing plate. I will let you have it for $80. If you need some one to install it, bring it to me and i will do it for $30.

I am just on the other side of Raleigh.
