Beefing up Toyota stock exhaust manifolds

The one I bought is part # 750051. As of today, it's still the same price on Amazon that I paid for it ($233) with free shipping.

For the record, when I got my OEM manifold back I looked it over thoroughly. I also had my father who is a career master mechanic look it over. We could find no cracks anywhere. I believe it was actually leaking from around the flange itself, and there wouldn't have been any way to weld or fix that.

The Pacesetter manifold is made of much higher quality. You can just hold it in your hands and tell it's better quality. The flanges are way thicker, the welds are done better, etc. I had the Toyota dealership install it for me and re-use my existing O2 sensors. I did have to purchase new studs since they couldn't re-use my old ones. I think I ended up paying $450 total for installation. For the work involved it was a good deal. I checked 3 shops and 1 didn't even want to touch it, 1 said he'd do it but it was very risky, and the other didn't even look at the vehicle before saying they'd do it so I'm sure after they saw the job they'd have tried to charge me more.

It feels realllllly good to start the engine on a cold day and not have people walking up and telling me there's something wrong with my vehicle now.

like zak quoted, when i first check amazon 4 months ago it was $211 tax free, up until 2 weeks ago it was $230 + tax, now its $249 + tax. so i ended up getting it for $265. btw- i am getting p0430 code and i swapped out, now, all 4 sensors

You're still saving over $500.....

I thought I was gonna see a $100+ jump in price or something. You'll still get some money out of the cats, as stated before. They're worth their weight in gold (and platinum...)

I replaced both my V8 manifolds with Pacesetters about a month ago. I reused my O2 sensors as well, but ended up with a P0420 code on my driver's side. I replaced both A/F and O2 sensors on that bank but the code kept coming back. That was frustrating. I ended up installing an $8 spacer on the downstream sensor, and all is good now.

Toyota didn't give you hard time about using non Toyota OEM parts? I gotta check with my dealership to see if they do such a thing. I like the savings that come with getting the pacesetter manifold

Just did some further research. Unfortunately, the pacesetter exhaust manifold sold on Amazon.com does not fit the 05+ V8 4runners. I think it has to do with the added VVT. Can't seem to find other options besides going custom. Might have to bite the bullet and get OEM from toyota
