About two years ago when I picked it up with just under 170k on the clock.

I've put a new roof rack on since this picture was taken, but this is basically how she sits now. Not a lot of cosmetic changes, but everything underneath has been taken care of. Almost 210k on it now.

Im not usually a fan of red, but this color has become one of my favorites on the 3rd gen. By far the best looking two tone 3rd gen! imo

I feel the same way. I didn't really want the red when I bought it, but my car was broke and I had 3 days to find and buy something. I looked at three different 3rd gens and this was the best of the bunch so I grabbed it. The red has grown on me, especially since I put the FJ wheels on it.

Depends on what you want to do with it. The 4runner is very capable in its stock form. However you will find yourself scraping on many items with those running boards.

Is there a good way to take the running boards off besides just going at them?

I did not have running boards however there were a lot who did. They could tell you better than I. Shouldn't be but a few bolts though.

It's a few bolts. Just go at it with a 6 pack and a 5lb sledge

Is there a good way to take the running boards off besides just going at them?

6 bolts total, 3 on each size. Spray them with PB Blaster or WD40 the day before to make it easier.
