Benefits of different spring rates?

I'm checking out the Toytec Ultimate lift for my 3rd gen 4x4 and there is an option to switch between a 600lb and 650lb spring rate. I know the benefits of different springs for MOUNTAIN BIKES for different rider weights and response but know nothing about it for cars. Please help?

the 650 would be used if you had an additional 200lb. load upfront, like a steel bumper & winch. it should state this on the web site. http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Ultimate-Lift-Kit-for-96-02-4Runner_p_392.html I believe you just missed toytec annual 10% discount by a month.
