The wife's 2005 Limited lit up the low tire warning today. All tire pressures checked good. Hooked up TechStream and have a DTC C2121 active code for (ID1 Not receiving data from transmitter). Being that the sensors are 12 years old, I plan on just going ahead and changing all five of them. What is a good brand/source to look for and what can I expect to pay for all five? Bypassing the system is NOT an option as she want it to TPMS system to function correctly.
Best brand/source for TPMS replacements?

Search for Denso sensors on eBay. I got mine for like $25/piece. They work great. Installed with zero issues.

I was wondering the same thing, but what I can tell you is the item with the "Heart" is the one most people purchase, so I would think it would be the one to buy, that being said I would think both would work as Rock Auto wouldn't be listing it if it will not work with your vehicle.
Not sure if this will help but they do have a phone number and email address, you can try and contact them to see if they can clarifiy which one will work.

I also replaced mine with Schrader about three years ago. No problems so far. Got mine at the local Goodyear store.
you said 12 years on he TPMS you were having problems with; is that a usual life span? I know I usually have the TPMS 'serviced/rebuilt' when tires are replaced, or so the receipt usually says. Is that just a gasket issue, or does that service usually include battery replacement? I also read here that it was a sealed unit and no battery replacement could be done, but rather just R&R the unit. Is that true?
I ask because my 2008 just had the warning light come on during a 100 mile highway trip. I have had half a dozen toyotas with TMPS and this is the first time I have had a warning light without an actual tire pressure issue. All the tires, incl. spare, were above 30 psi, so i figured it was one of the TPMS batteries/units gone wrong. About 24 hours later I noticed that the warning light was off and now it appears to be working again.
I have about 30K left on the current tires so no reason outside of a flat to get inside them and guess which tpms was the culprit.

Get rid of them and measure your own tires. I just bypassed mine when I got new wheels and tires for my rig.
You must be pretty good to get out and measure you own tire pressure at 75 mph rolling down the road? I know I can't do it when its moving at all. :flame:
seriously though, I set all my own pressures - based on tread wear, depending on the vehicle - but a slow leaker or a new nail in the tire picked up at speed gets caught quickly, and while moving, by TPMS, so disabling it is not an option I am wiling to take. Now back to the question at hand.

Yeah...its called steering wheel input or vibrations. But...Ive also tracked cars before so I know how to feel for that. And those sensors are worthless with temp swings. Who checks their tires at 7tmph anyway. Usually its when cold those things go off. But to each their own.
