Best coilover

Ok a little bit of hijacking here, but it might help the OP. What is the real advantage of Toytec coilovers vs. the TRD Tundra/5100 coilover. Other than the threaded body and pre-assembly (I assume) of the Toys, why spend the extra money for them? Does the threaded body really make the Toytecs THAT much easier to adjust? Maybe assembly of shock and coil costs quite a bit at a shop?

Nope, Only $15 bucks a piece for me locally.

Adjustment for ToyTec/Allpro threaded body coilovers:

Jack up vehicle and remove wheel.
Turn threaded adjustment to adjust from 0-3 inches and anywhere in between.
Reinstall wheel.

Adjustment for Tundra/5100

Jack up vehicle and remove wheel.
Remove coilover assembly from vehicle.
Use spring compressor and disassemble coilover.
Choose lift height of 2 inch, 2.6 inch, 3.3 inch.
Compress spring and reassemble coilover.
Reinstall coilover on vehicle.
Reinstall wheel.

For labor maybe. the top plates and bushings will cost way more than that and they are normally not included in unassembled coilovers.

thats the Sonoran Steel 1.2 kit. Definitely a good price as its usually double that new.

I would buy it.

Yea... good luck with that. The threads on the Toytec CO's are very coarse (at least on the +06 Tacoma CO's I had) and so they were damn near impossible to adjust on the truck. 2 bent spanner wrenches later, just took em off and had a friend with a spring compressor adjust them.

If you can adjust them on the vehicle, well damn - you've got skills I don't. My Fox CO's, on the other hand, I can adjust reasonably easily with some spray lube and a spanner.
