best color krylon/plastidip for Mag Grey TE

searched and read lots of threads, can't really come to a decision on what matches the TE plastic pieces best.

I only want to do the toyota emblems, and leave the existing plastic alone.

what do those of you with grey TEs and blacked out emblems suggest?

I have a black SR5 not sure if this helps but here is a close up of my PastiDipped front. The texture is smooth and it has held up for over a year. I did most of the chrome on the 4Runner. I tried painting the rear emblem and found it to fade and need retouching (just my experience) so i went with plastidip. Amazing stuff.

The black Plastidip works great to match the black plastic on the TE.

FWIW - here are the holes on the front emblem, which I removed to spray.

Thanks Zero. I am at home depot now looking at a can of plastidip. Did you use the spray or dip, and did you use any other coating(clear, etc) with it?

Black rattle can indeed. Nothing else.

Zero, how did you do the rear letters? it doesn't seem like there is a simple way to do this without likely messing up the rear garnish. I don't want to bother with the rear emblem until i can figure out to letters.

I've read other threads, and i'm just not sure about reattaching with double sided tape, had to do that with a trim piece on my titan and it was never right.

honestly, I just taped it off and sprayed it. easy peasy lemon squeeezy.

would baking it in the oven for a bit help it cure? I let it sit overnigth after 3 coats and this morning, the top edge flaked off a bit when i ran my finger along it. I think the 320 grit wasn't enough.

Seriously, plastidip is KISS easy. Just mask off around the letters (one big square, not between letters and such) and coat the entire area with 4 or 5 coats. Then, peel off - plastidip will break free at the edges of the letters, leaving it in tact on the letters.

Watch some youtube vids on plastidipping emblems, it should show how simple it is.

I left the rear emblem on, and had removed the front, which I later deemed unnecessary!

thanks again Zero. I did bake the front emblem for a few minutes, seems to be holding up well. already did a 1000 mile road trip and the bugs washed right off.
Now I need to figure out how to tape off the rear letters. No matter how many videos i've watched it looks difficult to get it just right in the tiny spaces!

Pulled mine off, rattle can it, stick them back. Easy job.
