True, black is always a good go-to. For me there are a lot of good options depending on which generation. I'd vote for anthracite or cool steel (or lavender steel) on the 3rd gens. 4th gens look great in black or nautical blue. 5th gens look best in salsa red, in my opinion. Inferno and cavalry blue are awesome on the newest TRD Pros, but I don't think I've seen them in the wild.

My 1995 2nd gen 4runner is green, but color is fading from the beautiful sun in Colorado. Thinking of painting it matte black. Anyone has done it and how do you like it?

In my opinion, green colored 4Runners look good, especially when seen in green environments.

Pearl white or metallic silver Hands down best colors. They hide scratches and blemishes so well better then any other color. I buy and sell cars so i know.

Green is my favorite, but the only one available was silver, which I like as well, just not quite as much.
