Can the Console Vault stay unlocked with either the combo or key lock? I would assume the keyed version can (if the key can be removed when unlocked), but does the combo version automatically lock every time you close it?

What do you normally put at the front driver storage? And how heavy can you go? just curious.

After you enter the combination, you rotate the knob to open it. As long as the combination remains in place (visible), it will remain unlocked. I typically leave it unlocked while driving if I know I'll need access to it, then lock it again before exiting the 4Runner.
After entering the combination so many times, you don't need to look anymore; you should be able to do it by feel, but I still prefer the aforementioned method.

If people are too cheap and money driven to buy from A company like Salex and support Chinese crap over the difference of a minimal amount of money, they should reconsider. Quality product. Just my option.
I would love to buy a glove box orginizer but this one is not thick enough. It sags. It also needs a support on the left side as well. It would be fine even if it's cut and we can super glue to our liking as far as spacing.

Yes the Salex organizer and the tray work together. I also have the glovebox organizer and love it. I did cut part of the lower brace so I could put my manuals on the bottom.

The "drawback" described in the last sentence became annoying. Especially when driving at night. So I decided to pull a trigger on Pro Clip USA vent mount.
After seeing the quality of this product I bough another one for my wife's Nissan. I'm not affiliated with Pro Clip USA in any way, but they have really good stuff.
I went for universal phone mount sized for my Samsung S5 with armor. Total cost after discount was around 65 dollars (ouch!) but the quality
of the stuff is amazing - I guess I watched to many "Made in China" products.
I'm not in California anymore but summer sun still can boil the windshield mounted stuff. Pro clip design doesn't block the vent and with AC on actually it
helps cool down the phone mounted there. Because Pro Clip pictures suck here is the closeup how it is actually installed.
The phone does not block any displays the only thing that is covered is the dial control for the left vent. From the driver position I still can see
the center console display, and I can check the phone screen without moving my eyes from the road.
Here you can see that the clip is not mounted to fins, but to the vent's frame. It is solid as a rock. And there is enough distance from the vent to
allow the air to move around the phone.
I did not get fancy about the power. I just routed the power cable around the center console holding wires with ties.
And the finally here is the picture taken from my driving position - this is how I see it. Obviously not while driving, but you will get the idea.
Actually I can touch the screen while holding both hands on the wheel.
In California any device can't be mounted where it is exposed to sun (anywhere on the top of dash or mounted to windshield)
- temperature kills the device very fast. I ended up with mounting my phone just in front of shift lever using cap holder mount (I don't need the front
cap holder as I don't drink and drive).
That place is good not only because "the sun does not shine there", but also the screen can be turned that way it does not have a sun glare.
And it is easy to aim at the right buttons when my palm is resting on the shift lever. The only drawback is that I would have to look down to read the screen,
so I don't look down when I'm in the running traffic - not worth it.

I didn't realize that it was the generic one when I bought it, but it does work pretty well. The cell phone wire hole is definitely counter-intuitive and I don't use it since this picture
