What I like to do first is put my gun in its case, then I put that case in the back of the 4runner.

I've never needed to mount an AR to the trunk of a car. Seems bizarre. Well unless you're james bond or something.

These are *not* inexpensive, but they are really well thought out and made (in the USA, no less).

You carry the gun in one part, a magazine in the other. The bracket is such that it is hard to remove unless you have the case open, so you can leave it in your car.

It also comes with multiple brackets so that you can mount brackets in multiple cars (or to your bed frame) and move the case between them.

I don't actually use mine in my 4Runner (long trips are usually in a different vehicle) and I have a very large amp under the driver seat, but that is where I would put it if not for the amp.

All jokes and James Bond shit aside, the BEST place to carry a weapon in your vehicle is on your body with a CCW permit. If you need to transport your AR for what ever reason your heart desires it is best placed in a case.

Nothing about gun control! I have plenty of guns. And I carry them unloaded in a case in the back. Carrying a loaded gun "just in case" is retarded. My friend has this and I love it. I am getting the same one for my runner. I think you need a left handed holster if you draw with your right hand though with the way this mounts to the steering column.

No such luck in Jersey I believe both pistol and or long gun has to be in seperate cases and ammo cased separately. All out of reach of the driver and not concealed. Penalties are stiff if u get caught.

This is my 07 Audi trunk lid i mounted Stag Arms AR-15 :sniper: and the XDM 3.8 and their is also a great cubbyhole under the steering wheel on it that hold the xdm pretty great i have a xdm compact their. But i am ready to fix some in my 4Runner.

What kind of mounts are you using for this? I'm thinking those mounts on the rear hatch of a 4Runner would be sweet. As long as they can be locked haha.

Idk about all the theory's for mounts but, my ccw stays in my crossbread holster.... at 4 o'clock position cocked and locked. I don't want people seeing it unless I ever need it. Rifles, they go in my case in the back. Pistols though being concealed carry here is not worth having in a holster under my steering or between console and seat if I got pulled over for a tail light being out or something silly. Also, without being holstered safely and secure, any sort of accident could send it all over the vehicle or help bonk you on the head. Or he'll fly out a broken window and cause a not so needed much larger issue in court. However long trip or knowing I won't be out in more than an hour I suppose I do at least take out for comfort but is in console or glove box for privacy.

What do you wear to conceal it? I love my 1911 but would never dream of trying to conceal carry it. I carry a m&p shield in 9mm and i can't even notice it. I've tried carrying a 1911 but it just feels like I'm walking around with a brick on my hip. Also where do you position it on your belt?

I have many full size 1911's but won't carry because yes there huge. Mine is the ultra which is a 3" barrel. Much easier carry. Wish I had the ultra carry but am very happy with the normal ultra. I'm only 5'8" maybe 9. 180 lbs.

Look up crossbreed holsters. I carry mine inside waist band with there "king tuck" I believe it is. Once broken in you would be amazing I opt to carry that to work daily over my 1/4 the size .380 Sig which I use an apedix holster or the crossbreed mini tuck. And again I wear that with shorts and a tee shirt comfortably. I just wear jeans with my 1911 with a t shirt now that it's cold out tucked in just that section of the holster with whatever I wear on top. Flannel. Hoody. Long sleeve doesn't matter. And I never go for looser cut shirts. I keep under shirt tucked most times at work so I never bend over or reach up and end up with it sticking out. But serious see that holster. Amazing. Breaks in and feels like home haha

Nice haha that makes a lot more sense now. I carry with a n82 tactical original holster, it's by far the most comfortable holster I've ever carried with, and it will work with more than just 1 gun.
