If you're talking about the loops on the front, I believe those are tie down points for transport and probably aren't strong enough for recovery. Not sure. Do you have a close up shot of what you're referring to?
berettashot117 - do you have a close up of how your hooks are mounted.
Personally I would prefer shackles over hooks, but I want to set up some front recovery points too.

you know I think your right. oh well I've been yanked out by these more than once. I guess now I'll just run a strap connected to both next time to distribute weight a little more evenly. Oh ya and when you have a nylon strap pullin on that hook, its not comin off lol.

I have used these rings many times and have never had any issues.
They are pretty strong, we used one of the rear ones as a anchor point to winch someone stuck in some rocks and it held up with no problems.
Other then that point I have no clue where you can connect up to in the front.

Here are some pics showing how strong those rings are in a tough recovery in soft sand.
thats reeeeaaaallllly soft sand. did both trucks get stuck?

too pricey, or I would jump all over it, i think it would look bad ass with a shackle hanging out the front.

Thanks for the pic, I figured thats how they were mounted but hard to tell from your other pics.
I dunno, just doesn't seem to me that those loops are very robust. But, sometimes you just gotta go with what you have.
Only other thing would be to have some mount welded to the frame to attach a shackle to.

you could prolly go to a fab shop and have em add better welds to those loops

ya I got the pins all bent up to hold em on. I'm not really worried about somebody taking them. and they've been there like six weeks or so already.

Wasn't required at that time yet, only as of last year it was required in Pismo.
But we made our own club flag now that it is required.
