best way to disable rear defroster

hi guys, after reading about some incidents of the rear glass shattering when using the rear defroster I have decided to disable it on my 05 limited. I would think pulling the fuse would be the easiest way but then I would assume the heated side view mirrors will also not work. the side view mirror heating is a must for me but I feel I dont really need the rear glass defroster.
so what would be the easiest way to disable it and still be able to use the mirror heating?

I'd say pulling the connectors at the glass and cap it off is the easiest.
