best way to provide more power to v6??

TRD says it will not work on the 4runner. It does but you'll need a FJ fit kit and maybe a EMS. URD also has a supercharger but again you'll need a EMS and the one it uses, X1, is no longer being made. As for headers I running DT long tubes but will shortly be running custom ones from APR. Their good but have room for improvement as I want the most HP as possible. I'm only running them as theres no other long tube header made for the 1gr and I wanted to run my F3 tune. Some run JBA or DT shorties due to emissions.

Thats actually pretty frustrating TRD doesnt even make one specifically for us T4R owners.. well for the 4.0 v6 anyways.. well I've got some time to think about it, so We'll see. I was hoping it would be as easy as just getting the supercharger from trd, or even urd and slapping it on.

What is it that the FJ Fit Kit does to allow the TRD SC to work?? and whats EMS?? thanks again!

I just called my local toyota parts center to order up a TRD cold air intake, and they discontinued it... :redbrick: well for the 4.0 V6 anyways... As far as I know, they were the only ones to make a cai that is legal in CA. Sometimes, I just hate living here

For intakes look for an AFE intake or a first gen TRD one. EMS= Engine Management System. No intake is legal in cali at least the good ones. The second gen TRD intake has problems that throws off the MAF and you'll see pretty wild fuel trims on those even with stock tuning. The reason why the FJ fit kit works is that the Reservoir that comes with it works for our master cylinder and the plumbing that goes to the coolant pump and intercooler will match very closely to ours. We might have to modify the intercooler a little bit but not much. Remember underneath the FJ and 4Runner share almost everything. As far as the TRD reflash goes ours is what I would like to say similar to ours as I'm running FJ files with my X1. I'm not 100% sure.

I wouldn't call a the Torsen center differential inferior. Heck its from the Land Cruiser and in many high end vehicles (Audi, Range Rover).
I get the same mpg as my neighbor's V6 4R 4wd, the big difference is when I floor it I go quickly. The only short coming of the V8 is the bloody timing belt maintenance.
