Better Gas Mileage for My 1995 T4R V6

My mileage went from the 17ish in my earlier post to 15ish when I put the 17" FJ rims with 265/70 tires on. Got a little better after K&N air filter and cap and rotor. Best mileage with those tires was on an all highway run and I achieved just under 21mpg. When I get new ties I'm probably goin to drop down to a 245/65 for a little better around town mpgs.

I would personally install a cold air intake with a k&n on it. Along with a bigger exhaust. I have 2.5" on my 22re

Welcome to the forum. Here is a crap ton of mileage examples.

Purchased 1995 T4R - 4WD in California and drove it back home. It has trouble power in the mountains... and sometimes does not kick into overdrive when going downhill. I was told issue is regulated by computer and can't do any real adjustment. Someone know of a mechanic that can help?

Why would you grab a 3+ year old thread that's about mileage to post your question about power to? There are probably 20 different threads within the last month or two that deal with low power on engines, as well as several of them on transmission shifting issues!

First, I'd suggest reading up on those threads first. Then I'd suggest getting a manual next and doing some investigations on your own. If you still can't figure it out, and nothing resembles your issues in the last 50 or so threads about power/trans issues, then try posting error codes, what you've done so far, and what's still happening or not happening. It would help us to help you at that point.
