BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2 went on sale today

I'd go with 265 C's. I was actually debating the exact same thing and for what I intend to do an E would be overkill along with the negatives of having a heavier and stiffer 10 ply tire. It depends on what you want to do really. I think if you're coming from a P-rated tire and you have to ask yourself if you need a C or E rated tire then you probably don't need the E and the logical choice is C rated. My 2 cents

Just wondering if the 275's rub running stock suspension; would like to have just that little extra bit of height. I've got selected to go on an Overland Expedition after the Expo in May. Running back down to Southern New Mexico over 5 days in the back country and I'll have my OZtent along with spare water/gas; highlift; shovel; propane up top. But not sure if that would make it rub due to the weight pushing down on the truck. Might just stick with stock E's

The 275s should not rub at all. Honestly they are only BARELY over stock size...

I've only had them about 24 hours now but so far the fact that they are E rated has not made itself felt in any way... And yeah I like the idea of having them be practically armored. Death Valley can be vicious on tires in places.

Yeah they said the same thing at ORW. "Easy to balance" and they are driving very smooth.

So after almost a week of them on, here are my impressions with my KO2s 265/70/17 Load C at 44-45psi...

1.) The truck feels more stable all around especially at high speeds. The truck is no longer "floaty" and feels more connected to the road.
2.) Body lean is much better, my TE doesnt have KDSS so this helps. Nose dive is also improved.
3.) The truck no longer bounces as much. I assume this bounce was attributed to the flex in the sidewall of the stock P tires.
4.) Snow rating. These tires are great when it first snows, fresh powder. Tires clean very well. Tires grip very well in the ice, abs turns on minimally when on fresh snow and ice meaning it retains traction on these conditions.
5.) Where the tire disappoints in my opinion is slush. The tire has a hard time cleaning and gets impacted with slush easily. Cleans off if you can spin the tires, but naturally only cleans off where the stone ejectors are. I feel like I was slipping more in 4x4 than on the stock duelers. This is only when the roads are that slushy consistency but rock in fresh deep and shallow snow. The slush is the same consistency of mud, so this is expected. Perhaps this will be better as the tire wears since it will not have to clean 15/32" deep but rather only 8/32" deep tread.
6.) I don't really offroad so I can't speak about off road traction.
7.) Dry traction is great, so is wet traction.
8.) Road noise is nothing, but i have window vent visers that are really loud.
9.) Mpg took a small hit, maybe 0.5 on averge. City mpg seems to take a hit more than highway.

Conclusion, tires are awesome and everything I wanted. Wished for better slush traction but what can ya do.

I noticed tirerack.com didn't offer them without the RWLs and BFG's site appears to show they don't offer them either (http://social.bfgoodrichtires.com/BFG_KO2_Sizing+Availability.pdf). If you could just clarify how you went about your set up (i.e., having them mounted with the RWL in or does BFG offer them without the RWL) it'd be much appreciated.

Another KO2 Purchase

I also purchased the 265/70/17 in load range C. I am surprised at how well they handle on road, appear to be much better than previous KO. Big snow storm here last week and they performed as advertised, no problems at all and much better again than previous KO that I had. I am excited to compare these to the Cooper a/t3's that I just ordered for my other suv, should be installed later in the week. I went with the bfg's on the 4runner as it sees more mountain adventures and will be punished more.
For reference on other vehicles I have previously run: Toyo MT, Revo 2, BFG KO (2 sets), Michelin LTS a/t2, Michelin LTX m/s as well as the stock tires that have come on the vehicles when new.

On average what are you guys paying for these. I just ordered 265/70/17 Cs for $200 a piece from a local shop here with install I was at $935 out the door. Tax was about $81 bucks. I get them installed Thursday, Just wanted to see if I was getting as good a deal as I think I am. Will post pics

I paid 220 ea for my 275/70/17 load Es and that was about 20 over "normal" I was told but most places were sold out and only one local supplier had any left. But they did have them so I jumped on it. Same wholesale distributor was selling them at 50 each over normal price a couple months ago, which I turned down, just before they sold out last time. At that point they had 7 left and that afternoon they were all gone even at 250 ea which is WAY over normal pricing...

Price probably depends tons on your location and local popularity

I purchase 5) 265-70R17's and paid 1300 OTD. [260.00EA everything included]
Lifetime road hazard, Rotation and balance and it's good anywhere across the country by an authorized BFG Dealer.
Wish I could have gotten them for less, but everyone else was even higher...so I am OK with that!

Oh, I sold my take off's in less than 24 hrs for 225.00 so ....

The 275s have always been cheaper, at least on tirerack. I assume because the 265 is a more popular size? I was originally going to go with the 275s but didnt want the 10 ply tire

Just got some KO2s installed yesterday. I haven't had BFGs in almost 10 years, but they are even better than I remember. Very firm ride and quiet. Big upgrade over the Dunlops. I haven't driven them all that much yet, but no negatives whatsoever so far. And as someone said earlier in this Thread or maybe another, the KO2s "look like they belong on the 4Runner". I got the 265/70-17s in load range C. They will see some mild off roading when i go up to the New Mexico mountains or down to Big Bend. I live right in between those two in the West Tx desert.
Is it just me or does the truck look more level now? Here's a before and after pic.

I paid $840 for LT275's including shipping and taxes from tire buyer.

I am looking to get those exact tires next week. My TRD wheels are coming.

I will be switching from SR5-Wheels/Bridgestone-Dueler-684ii to TRD-Black/BFG-KO2-265-70R17-LRC. I am excited.

I just need to figure out where to go get those KO2s. discounttires want $219ea, $64 for installation, $24 for TPMS stems. I need to convince them to "extract" the TPMS modules from my old tires and put non-TPMS back to them so that I can sell them (already got someone lined up). Probably going to cost me $800-900 out of pocket for the whole upgrade, I think that's totally worth it!.

I agree, doesn't make any sense. Must be in my mind. I know it's got a slightly taller tread than the stock tires, but that's it. And that shouldn't change the level. It's weird.

sounds similar to reviews on their other tires over the years.. ppl think thhings have changed.. all they did was add a sidewall to compete with the duratracs which are selling like hot cakes in that dept.. still the same ole bfg.. glad others tested it.. i thought about trying them.. but yours was like the 4th review that said pretty much the same thing in addition to others who liked them but didn't have much to say about rain/snow/ice.. i need an offroad tire that performs well on ice and snow and rain.. and the duratracs have proved well for many and to me in that category.. if u live down south.. surreee get the k02's but if u live where it snows a decent amount and u want an aggressive all terrain.. u cant go wrong with a duratrac
