BFG All Terrain T/A vs Goodyear Wranger Duratrac

Okay guys I have been reading, researching and trying to decide on a set of tires! I am looking for a great A/T tire since I do alot of on road and off road driving. I have narrowed it down to the BFG vs Goodyear Duratrac.

I love the styles of both tires. I have friends that would never get anything but BFG and some friends that run the Goodyear Duratrac.

If you had to choose which ones would you go with???? What would also be your pros and cons of each tire?

I have BFGs on my chevy truck. pretty fun and has good grip for a 2wd truck tire.

I have the T/A KOs as this is my daily driver. I love them because they are great on the trails. The MT2's are better but last about half the time and on a daily driver and 18" wheels new tires aren't cheap. Most people I know get about 60-80k out of the T/A KOs. I have about 30k on them and about half of the tread left on mine. Sorry I can't help with the Duratrac....no experience with those tires.

I hate to be a spoiler... For the record you have two great choices. On your rig with the levelling spacer I'd give a hard look at some 255/75/17's. Hankook RFM10(?), Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour, Revo2 and the BFG M/T are all available in that size. It's a full 32+ and they work great, just throwin' it out there

Hankook RFM10(?), Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour, Revo2 and the BFG M/T are all available in that size. It's a full 32+ and they work great, just throwin' it out there

The 255/75/17 Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 with a leveling spacer is the route I took. Very satisfied, although I haven't been off road yet. There's a link in my sig to pics of my lift/tires.

Very rarely do I drive over that. Maybe 80 a couple of times but mostly around 75mph.

That is a possibility. I want something more aggressive as far as looks so if I went 255/75 I would go with the BFG M/T. Thanks for that info!!

I like my Duratracs, but I only have about 1200 miles on them.

They have a nice little hum on the highway, but not too loud. And they look beefy as hell.

I went with the load E rating and run them at 44 psi, they feel pretty solid, not very squishy at all.

I have Duratracs on my 3rd Gen. I like them so far, you can't beat the looks for a very streetable A/T.

I've driven on several sets of BFGs over the last 20+ years and both my Nittos and the Duratracs have much better street manners and comprable off roading traits and both were much cheaper then the KOs. If you truly off road a lot I'd give the BFGs the nod for their durability against the rocks but if you spend most of your time on the stree their wet weather manners left alot to be desired compared to the Duratracs and not everybody and their mom has 'em but I am seeing the Duratracs a lot more lately.

A set of BFGs would've cost me $200 more than I got my Goodyears for.

Yes,they will fit an '01 but it will be snug and maybe a little rubbing at full turn but they will fit.

I'm seeing 15-17 city with my '99 and 21hwy and it hasn't changed with the Maxxix Big Horn H/T,Nittos TGs or my Duratracs.

i have the firestone desination le and want new tires.... would i notice and loss in mpg in the DuraTracs? or bfg?

i went with duratracs myself, just got them on the other day. so far no compliants just a bit louder than the dunflops but that was expected, not too worried about the decrease in fuel efficiency but curious to see what it will work out to be.
