Bfg at ko2

I have had mine now for a couple of months and in short, yes the ride is a little stiffer and can be harsh at times compared to the stock tires. The factory tires are pretty soft and are a much lower load rating the the KO2s. The KO2s are an E rated tire which a much stiffer sidewall. If you are going for comfort, the KO2s might not be the best. Also, I am having a very hard time getting one tire to balance. I have been in 3 times in the past 2 months in an attempt to get them to balance right. One tire was replaced under warranty after 2 weeks as the tire tech told me, "it might as well have been a square tire" that's how bad it was. I will ride with them for a while and see how it goes, but would probably get something different if I had not gotten such a damn good deal on them. Just my 2 cents. if you have the 275/70/17 and stock suspension, did you run into any rubbing issues or anything like that because the toyota dealership will say that it will rub. im thinking about sizing up to the 275/70/17 KO2s but im running stock suspension and was wondering if it would rub?... any help?

Power Loss Changing from 265 to 275?

Anybody experience any power loss (freeway, hill climb, towing) when changing from 265 to 275. I will probably go with the BFG KO. Thanks.

I almost bought these until I road in a new Cherokee with them and I was far from impressed. I understand it's a different platform but just the daily ride comfort seemed like it was too big of a compromise. That said, it's a mean tire and it's top dog for good reason. I ended up going with the new Falken Wildpeak AT3W and they are poised to give the KO2 and run for its money! Stellar looks, super quite, and exceptional performance per reviews. Anyone looking at the KO2 should at least give the Falkens a look.

As for white letters in or out...I say out all day! The KO2 is only one of two tires that got the white lettering style, placement, and appearance right. Looks sexy as hell.

I'm currently looking at the BFG KO2 275/70/18. Will those rub or interfere with anything? Is there a work around to avoid getting a lift?

Hi! Read where John's link sends you for educational info on your 4R but yes it will work. I have a 16 Trail Premium 275 BFG and fits great. But def read the article, knowledge is power!

I have this size and I had to take off my mud guards and trim a good amount in the front as well as do the liner mod. Before this size I had grappler g2 in 285/70/17 which is almost identical to the 18s. I had the 285 on without a lift and they fit fine, but with the more aggressive tread on the ko2 u may want to do the fitting mods before u mount them or ur drive home might be funny lol

275's - no rubbing at all with stock suspension. I have added a 1" front spacer after the fact but only to level for looks.

About 1000 miles so far, no issues, love the tires........

New to the T4R world

I have seen a lot of discussion between the 285 and the 275 I am leaning towards the 285 k02 more. I have a 16 TE premium no lift yet, but i work walking distance to Toytec lifts :thumb: if i went with a 2.5" 3" lift could i make the 285 k02 fit? and i see a lot on "trimming", is this referring to the inner liner or the bumper itself? if anyone could help with this information that would be nice!

Funny you mentioned the Grappler G2s - those are my second option. Why did you change to the BFG and which do you prefer? How as the sizing?

I the g2 285/70/17 was a good size I had these mounted on the stock rims. I then changed wheels to 18's so I decided to go with bfg. The g2 I had were not LT stamped and from everything I've read they were more of a c rated than p rated in that size. I didn't like the g2 I slipped a lot in rain and snow. I haven't slipped anywhere as bad with the bfg but I think it has to do with the rating which my bfg is e rated. For me it was a toss up with the bfg I originally wanted duratracs but I couldn't find them for a good price at the time.
