BFG AT KOs???

I found a brand spankin' new set of BFG A/T KOs in the 265/75/16 tire size (load range E tire) for $550 for sale in my area. Does anyone have any reviews as to how they perform in the rain/off-road/snow? My current tires are pathetic and I am eager to get rid of them, the only thing they get any traction on is dry pavement.

BFG's are awesome!! go for it, you will not regret it....try and talk him down though that seems a little steep....sayyy 450? 475?

If they are really new that is a great price. "E" might be a little harsh as far as ride quality.

I've heard mixed ratings as far as performance in the rain.

Bfg at's are a great tire. I have them too but in a 285/75. And they are the E rating. They seemed to be great in just about everything. And they are quiet on the road. The only bad thing I could think of is that the tread pattern tends to get small rocks in the tread sometimes and they fling out. Not really an issue on the smaller sizes but mine stick out past the fenders and the rocks can hit the paint. Good luck. I'd buy em

I had these exact tires on my 4unner E load rating and all. They were fine. $1000 new but fine.

Good tires. They won't do as well in the rain as some of the other AT's, but they're not bad. In snow and off-road, they are superior to other AT's. They're one of the very few AT tires with a severe snow rating (snowflake symbol on the side).

I recommend them, personally.

If you don't get em...tell me where they are. Or...if you want some 265/70/16 BFG A/T's i'll sell you mine for half that (not brand spankin new though) if i can get this set And as for the rain...they work fine for me- at least no worse than my last car- as long as you don't do anything you wouldn't normally do in an SUV.

Thanks for the info everyone, I sent the guy an e-mail and he has yet to respond but that was this morning. Shawn, if I don't get these I will let you know. I am really in a hurry to et rid of my current tires, they handle terrible in most ALL situations.

I must live under a rock. I have owned a few sets of bfg's over the years and never had a wet road complaint.

I was actualy going to break the cycle and try the nittos a month ago, but the dealer only had 10 ply and said his distributer had no idea when more would be available. It was a sign from above to get another set of bfgs.

I realy like the way they look and they handle well in my opinion, especialy for what they are.

Only negative I can say is I lost approx 1mpg still avg 17-17.5 mixed commuting. Worth it to me.

If you drove a 4Runner equipped with Nittos and another with BFGs and drove in heavy rain at highway speeds I bet you'd notice a diff. I've driven on a few sets of BFGs and my current set of Nittos has a better margin for error and a bit more predictablilty on wet and dry pavement over BFGs and the Nittos saved me about $200 on the set.

BFGs do kickass off road but leave a bit to be desired on the road.

The Nittos have been quite a good A/T tire for my uses over 4 years and the price is right and I will be on my 2nd set come fall.

Still,nothing beats the look of a BFG and they do have the only lettering that looks good white side out and that alone makes them worth the price to some people. I loved how they made my simple '95 Toy PU look back in the day.
