BFG KO2 Specific Question

Well, I just went back for them to use their updated snap-on software (that he *****ed about being $500 to update) in order to get the TPMS sensors "woken up" and my dash light off, and "due to insurance reasons, I am not allowed near the bay" and they closed to door, so I couldn't see the balancing being done.

When I go to my dealership for the next service, i'll ask them to do it.

Discount tire will program TPMS sensors for free.

Get it road force balanced by a shop that knows what they are doing. You should run about 36-38 psi...more if you want slightly better mpg but stiffer ride.

Road force can slightly mask the problem, but if the tire is bad, it won't fix the problem.


@ op: When you can see how much weight is on your wheels, post it up.

Yep, for tires this size you should be able to balance with 4-5 ounces at most.

Thanks for all the feedback. I appreciate all of the viewpoints and all of the ideas of what it could possibly be.

After going out and measuring the insulation, they were all above 70 psi! One of them was at 77 psi!

I brought them down to 38 psi.

I only ran them for about 200 miles. Do you think that over inflation of the tires running them for that amount could have done any damage? Besides *****ing to the tire shop, do you think I should have concerns besides the idiot that put them on?

I have mine for 35K miles and still going. No issue at all. 70 psi :wow: I have mine between 35-40 psi. Good luck with the new tires. They are very good.

You need a new tire shop. Now. Still didn’t do the TPMS sensors after second visit? 70psi? That’s one more shot than I would have given them.

I have 10k on mine and they’re great. C load running 38 psi. The E is gonna run rough. I don’t care what people say, E load is intended for full sized pickups hauling loads. It’s overkill for our rigs. But to each their own.

I love my KO2's, never had any issues at all. They ride smooth as silk and are extremely quiet down the road, I honestly can't hear them at all. I have 10,000 miles on them know.

I personally would never run load range E. I run C's and keep them at 40 psi max.

Ditto on that.... I run the "C" Rated on two 14' Tacomas. One has about 25k on them the other about 12K on them. They have been awesome. Smooth as silk on the highway up to 75mph and wearing quite well.

Both trucks carry a constant load of about 750 lbs in the bed. We beat the hell outta these tires off road. Both trucks see heavy construction sites or woods or jumping 6" curbs every day.

Running tire pressures at about 35lbs. They were balanced on a "Roadforce" Compression Machine. Using sticky weights inside the rim not clamp on type. Ditched the TPMS and use Heavy Duty Shortie Valves. Mounted on factory 16" Wheels. No complaints here. :jump: Hope this helps

get them balanced. They could be out of round, wouldn't be the first set of KO2's to be square shaped....

Balancing will do nothing for tires that are physically "out of round".

I have E rated KO2 285/70/17 and run 38-40psig. I have had zero issues and they have been a solid performer on and offroad...and really no noisier than stock. Also, I have had no problems with them on wet roads...although I am a bit more cautious on rainy drives.

These have around 40000 miles on them now.

Had my 285 load C installed for about 3k miles but always get a vibrate/wobble around 60mph. Road force balancing hasn’t fixed, alignment has been done. Anyone experienced this?
