BFGoodrich KM vs. KM2

I am looking for a set of trail tires to run on my GX470 on a set of 17" Tundra wheels. I plan on swapping them on for street tires for trail events so as to keep the wear down and not have to listen to mud tires on asphalt on the daily. For this reason, I am not looking to buy new - especially when CL is frequently flooded with low mile Jeep Rubicon take offs in an agreeable size - 255/75/17.

So I was pretty well set on just waiting for the next deal on a set to come up when I stumbled on a set of KM2s. They are slightly smaller, 265/70/17 but otherwise look to be in good shape with lots of tread left and the price is comparable.

Removing any price considerations - is the KM2 a significantly better tire - enough so to forgo the extra inch in size and buy the slightly smaller KM2s?

Thanks for any input.

I could be wrong, but I would be doubtful that a 15 inch rim will clear the brakes on a 2005 GX470. Or was that a typo in your first paragraph?
