Big Bear August 4 report.

2x on that one, Pilot rock really narrow? brush dmg?

Pilot rock is narrow in some spots and there is a chance of brush damage on the more difficult Pilot rock run. I got a couple of scratches when I ran it last year. It might have changed though.

I'd be down to do Pilot Rock in the near future if anyone wants to go!!

How was the trail run in Saturday? I've done Cleghorn but not Pilot Rock. How tough was Pilot Rock?

Cleghorn was challenging, well, one trail we attempted (thanks Kimo). We got some gnarly pin striping and I damaged my left rear bumper. We didn't attempt Pilot Rock that day.

We won't be wheeling for a few weeks but my buddy and I are thinking of going to Hungry Valley OHV in Gorman the next time we head out.

Your welcome Bj. J/k yes one trail was pretty hairy. Now I know I will not be taking that trail again.
I'm down for Gorman. I've been looking at that place for a while. From what I've been seeing there is alot of trails/shoots up there. Hopefully the weather cools down some when the date to go is decided. It does get pretty hot out there when the temperature is up.

Sorry to hear about the dmg, I'm curious to know what trail/off shoot that was now.

& we still don't know how Pilot rock is! haha the mystery continues...

I'm interested in Gorman too.

That trail is towards the end. If you end up climbing a hill and at the top is a concrete post. Turn around and go back. Not unless you really want to challenge yourself and your rig. Going back down is still a bit tricky.

For sure fellas, I'll post the thread with the logistics. The new damage was a bummer but it even things out with the previous damage and brings me one step closer to a full aftermarket bumper swap!

Yup, three choices:
1. continue and crawl down a narrow trail full of boulders and drop offs
2. turn back and and pray you don't flip over going back up a super steep incline
3. turn back and get all scratched up from two gnarly off camber trails

And what's behind door #4?

Looking to out with you all again.

I'm down for Gorman. Not to many pin stripe areas. I got enough on our last run up at cleghorn. I've never been to gorman before.

So we didn't go up this past sun.

BUT I plan on going for sure this Sunday with a buddy or two. Let me know if you wanna join, all is welcome!

Cleghorn. 9AM
I'll have my hand cb on 13 so it doesn't reach far.
