Big bear evening snow run 3-2-14

Looking to take a trip tommorow afternoon to big bear. Going to do easy trails, start in fawnskin and take 3n16 to the dump. Will be leaving Fontana around 1-1:30 if anyone wants to roll. Might not get snow this winter again lol

Definitely will, I work Tommorow also but I am getting off at noon lol.
 
Well I don't really know much. My old roommate texted me a picture that his brother took this morning at breakfast. It showed what looked like at least 6" but I can't really tell, it could have been more for sure.
 
Difficulity?? I'm still stock with oem tires.
Not sure if my co-driver is willing, I ran her all over the Mojave Preserve 2 weeks ago.

Thanks again Brian. I read big bear snow mountain got about a foot of powder, so we shall see tommorow how much of it made it to the roadway.

Bobstrail, it's hard to predict difficulty but the road I am going to take is essentially a fire road if you will, that I have done in my wife's highlander during the summer months. I have full recovery gear if you or I got stuck for whatever reason, and no one will get left behind.

I live off the 210 and Sierra just south of the freeway. Just north of the 210 there is a big 5 we can meet at. I can meet you there at 1:30? Here's the address

I'm not going to make this trip, think I better wait until I get off my oem tires. I expect a lot of mud due to the rains and don't want to have to recover all day.

I'm probably being too chicken and will wish I had gone when I see the photos.

No worries man. Like I said it shouldn't be to bad, but not sure. You still have a few hours to change you're mind lol. Resorts got 8-11 inches of snow so not much.
 
All in all it was a great short trip with Darrel. There was a good amount of snow and the road wasn't to bad except in a few spots where it was still virgin snow. We ended up taking 3n12 to 3n08 to 3n16. Will post the few pictures I took.
