Just saw your location, makes complete sense! Have you considered 1JZ?Too bad I'm in South Carolina and the farthest I would drive is central Florida. I just dont know if I could buy an engine that I havent seen in person with my own 2 eyes. Otherwise I'd just buy one off of Ebay. Also that doesnt come with a transmission. 2200 dollars includes engine and transmission.

Not sure why people hate on higher revs so much, but in any case the reason I suggested 1JZ was that they are usually about 1/2 the price. Not really. Ive never looked into the 1JZ. All ive heard about them is they are almost the same but rev higher. I really dont care about the higher revs, its not like im going to be drifting in my 4runner or anything.

What does the age of the vehicle matter? Unless you're planning on selling it as soon as you finish. I'd be less inclined to do a swap on a newer vehicle, destroying it's resale value in the process. I'm willing to bet a JZ swapped 3rd gen would fetch 10-13k in decent condition.Screw it, I'm Just going to buy a 300zx and probably sell the 4runner. An engine swap wouldnt be worth it on this 20 year old suv.
