hey guys, had a CEL thrown a few days ago. checked it right away. P0606. something I've never seen before in my years of wrenching. so i was scared. looked it up and its a PCM/ECM error. naturally i cleared it hoping it was just a fault. came back on next time i started my rig. now this is where it gets weird. cleared the code again and let it sit all day. let my mother in law borrow it to bring some boxes to storage. (Biggest mistake of my life and i knew better but had no option) came back to her house and picked it up. drove 1/8 mile to my buddys house and put it in park and heard an extremely scary noise. FYI i have a URD TCAI intake. (very high flow) and a full exhaust JBA long tubes, URD Y pipe and a custom cat back. So the noise i hear sounds like a rug doctor is hooked up to my intake. huge air sucking whooshing what ever you may call it. left it running and got out put my ear to the intake and it was evident that it was sucking way more then it ever has. way way more. turned it off and started to get scared, did a bunch of research to not much avail. after further listening with a stethascope it sounded like i had possibly had lost a cylinder ring and was just blowing air thru the combustion chamber. pulled all plugs and did a compression test. 150 psi across the board.. phew..... this is where I'm currently at
my next step is to rig up a oil pressure gauge to screw into my pressure sending unit. I will be doing this tomorrow when i pick up a gauge from the parts store.
been reading, searching and posting everywhere looking for any ideas comments suggestions and anyone having or had similar issues.
so please if you have any ideas let me know as it seems i won't be making it to moab this weekend and will have the 17 hours the FSM call for on a oil pump change.
my only other though it a possible air leak, if it is one its massive and has slipped past my fine tooth comb inspection. sorry for the novel hope some one out there like Bulldog or BlackWorksInc has some input.
