Well, I finally got the email from Tesla along with apparently everyone else in the free world, that I can place my order for the wife’s Model 3. So She went all out.. there was no stopping her. Dual motor, all wheel drive, 19 inch sport wheels, enhanced auto pilot, premium, extended range battery and deep blue metallic color... maybe her tree hugging car will offset the carbon footprint of my 2017 F250 and my Sons 3rd Gen 4Runner..[emoji51]

It still uses fossil fuels to power the plant that charges the thing. So not much of a tree hugger. Lol.

I'm guessing 6-12 month wait?

Yes but still more efficient than making gasoline and burning it in a vehicle. Plus electricity can come from a whole range of sources, not just fossil fuels. Not saying that those alternative sources aren't without problems of their own, but at least they provide options to do something different.

But the big elephant in the room no one talks about is the amount of fossil fuels required to make a car, and that applies to electric cars too. It's huge, not sure how much but maybe something like 1/4 or more of the energy a vehicle will burn over its lifetime. So us here who are salvaging these old 4runners keeping them out of the junkyard and not buying a new car are doing our part...
