BIG problem!

So I got my wife out of her crappy Jeep and into this new 4runner. We've had it for about three weeks now. I don't get to drive it much, she throws me a bone once-in-a-while like "here honey, why don't you take it and fill up the tank" or "could you run it down to the car wash" or "take it down to the store for a couple of things". Last weekend my brother and I snuck it away and took it up into the hills to get it good and dirty for the first time. We washed it thoroughly before we brought it back, but still got a scolding for being gone 8 hrs.

I'm having jealousy issues. I didn't feel this way about her Jeep. I'm thinking of taking the vehicle away from my wife. I don't think she's worthy of such a fine machine. This could get ugly.

Welcome to the club of abused husbands. My story is even worse. I bought the 4Runner to repalce my Acura and my Wife has pretty much taken over control. I think there is something about women and SUV's. I don't think you have a chance in Hell to get it. Once they have contol, forget it.

Of course on a family outing or a trip you may get the chance to drive the 4Runner.

I drive a '93 Toyota extra-cab pickup (V6). Before that I drove an '82 Toyota pickup (22R 4-cyl). Had a couple of "hobby" Jeeps in between, but Toyotas have always been my daily-drivers. Never owned a 4runner before three weeks ago, though.

What car do you drive? Give your car to your wife and take the 4runner. Give her a whole bunch of reasons why the 4runner is wrong for her, or just make up stuff. You know, eats to much gas, to heavy, wind noise, etc and see if she would buy those.

I doubt that you will be able to force her into a pickup. You're screwed until you pay off the 4Runner I think.

My wife has to take the van. She almost never drives my truck but that is only because of our circumstances.

No you're right toybox, I'm screwed.

Even though I'm very serious about being jealous, I'd never be able to pry it away from my wife. I love my truck, but after driving around in that 4R every day, SHE hates it. :sobbing

Hey it's not so bad, I get to wash it! I even get to play with it once in a while. Oh well.

In six years I'll have it paid for. Then Maybe I'll get the 2010 4runner for myself. By then, engines will run on water - 10 cents per gallon!

LOL, I don't see a way into the 4Runner for you man... She's got her clutches in it and she ain't letting go

Girl Cars

Some of the girls' responses are way funny. My wife would not drive my Jeep: too loud & "jumpy." [Jumpy?]
Can't keep her out of the 4R.

She's paying me back: I bought her a new '86 Buick Regal T-Type, over the phone. I was alone when I picked it up @ the dealer 100 mi. east of home.

I was in big trouble from the start-up. I knew it was supposed to be a neat car, but who knew is was a mechanical clone of the Grand National? But in dark red, leather bench seat & column shift. I wasn't even 1/2 way home & I was steady thinking of how I was soon to be explaining why her new car really wasn't hers! Not sure wot I said, and I lived in shame for awhile.....me & my Regal :satan:

How about, they are easy to trip over as indicated by the picture on the sun visor and a car handles & stops better. I just feel safer with you in the car.

But, bluewolf I think toybox is right your screwed.

Thai, the gold T4R.ORG sticker would look great on a Golden Pearl '02 4Runner :D

I'll buy one. Our 4runner is dorado gold pearl, but your stickers are more like gold-gold than platinum-gold aren't they? If so, I think I'd rather have black. Sorry.

Bluewolf, I've got a proposition for you. I'll send you a gold T4R.ORG sticker for FREE on the condition that you promise to post a nice pic once you stick it on. That way I can use your pic as a model and maybe then folks won't be afraid of buying one :D If you agree just send me a PM with your mailing addy.

I bought my wife a new 350Z, so the only time she tries to take my 4runner is when she has stuff to haul around. Not that often.
