Bikini top Mounting bracket

I'm gonna try to get my bikini top on today.:girl: I only have one question for those experienced with making their own bracket. How much lip do you have on the front of the bracket. I want to make the transition from cab to top as seamless as possible.

Mine blends into the roof line like it was stock, but I'm not sure exactly what you're asking.

When I weld my tabs to my lip, how much gap is in between the lip and the cab? I don't want to weld my mounting tabs too far forward and end up with a gap between the top and cab, but I don't want them so far back that I can't get my top to catch the lip.
