Billie/Toytec Adjustables

Normally I wouldn't post up a thread like this... but want to make sure this is a good setup before I pull the trigger.

Is the Billie 5100 adjustables + Toytect 600# spring going to be a good setup for a 4Runner with stock bumpers?


This is coming from a PP spring/Tokico TrekMaster RT setup which is a horrible combo!

I was trying to look it up on the ToyTec Site, but the only one I seen with the spring rate listed was rated @ 620#. Which they said would "support additional weight without sagging". I just didn't want to end up with something too stiff.. wasn't sure how big a difference the 600# would be from 620#.

Just call them and tell them what you want. I'm sure they still have the 600# coils.

By the way 600-620 would be minimal.

I wish they still sold the 550# but with an extra wrap or two.

It's always a compromise. a soft coil flexes well but has less control around corners and off chamber.
A firm coil will handle better but not flex well.
The 600# is the best of both.

I'm actually picking them up used or I would definitely give 'em a call.

Anything has to be better than PPs and Tokicos.

It just clicked that these are coming off of a Tacoma so the valving on the 5100's might be a little soft, but hopefully they ride nice!

I have this setup but my billies adjust the other way...the ride is a tad stiff but I love the combo

I have been looking for the screw type billies. I would rather have those than the ones with fewer settings. Think you could get me a part number?

I think the screw type is something added by ToyTec. I don't think Bilstein sells them that way. I will get you part numbers today though either way.

If you have 5100's already.. you can buy the kit to make them the screw type, but you have to buy them with springs from ToyTec:

I'm also thinking about upgrading my 5100's with the Toytec coils and seat (part# TTAFCS-CK95). I'm pretty sure the screw type coil seat is a custom design from Toytec/Eibach. My Bilstein's have the three settings. Sounds pretty damn convenient to dial the lift exactly how you want it without having to tear the whole assembly out.
