Billstein 4600 series anyone?

I need shocks and heres what Im looking for:
I have the original shocks and I have over 240,000 miles. No lift with an added brush guard and roof rack. I do not off road and do a lot of highway driving so I want to be comfortable. Never replaced shocks on any car before so not very knowledgable and would pay my mechanic for the install. So is the Billstein 4600 series what I should get? Just a pair of 4 shocks and nothing more right? thanks

AJUSA. They run about $270 shipped. I've had them on a few of my 4Runners and like them a lot. But, they do ride firmer than what you're replacing. (Even more so because yours are so shot).

If you want a softer ride, KYB or even Monroe sensatracs.
 
No such thing as a stupid question. But that's damn close. :) Means exactly what I said though, the Bilstein shocks are a firm ride. You feel all the bumps, dips, etc. other brands as mentioned, offer a much softer (Cadillac esque if you will) ride.
 
Ow wow thanks now I know I dont want Billstein, good thing I didnt buy them today...and located north of Los Angeles
 
probably not a need to pay labor. probably just beer.

you ever buy anything, I am having the same debate right now very similar to you want a good highway ride...I suppose based on pitbull rescuer kyb look like the way to go, but I keep hearing conflicting information of which is softer between the kyb gas a just and the 4600s

if you or anyone else has info on that, please chime in

which kyb are going to be softer more like stock oem, the gas a justs? you think they will have a better ride than worn out 156k stock stuff but not as firm or harsh as 4600s? thanks for the info...

My current 4Runner has KYB Gas-A-Just on it. Rides pretty soft. But I have no idea how long they've been on it, they were on it when I bought it.

ok cool thanks for the input, based on what I have read that you have posted you have had both the 4600s and the kyb gas a just...could you do me a favor and I would really appreciate it...

could just give me a review of you experience with both? likes & dislikes of each, and possibly if you have the knowledge of those vs. each other and oem.

I am looking for I guess close to oem as I am highway or city street 99.9% of the time, I am looking for controlled comfort...thanks again.
