billstein 5100s front/OME n86c rear

Hey guys i got a 01 SR5 and just got OME 880/906 coils for just a little lift not trying to go crazy, and am trying to find the best shocks to go along...i know with this mild lift I can get away with stock shocks for a while but eventually i want to do shocks all around...which lead me to the bilstein vs OME debate...

my question is, since OME doesn't make an adjustable front shock, and since from everything I could gather tells me the comfort n86c rear shocks are the best for highway/regular on-road driving...is it completely crazy to get the billy 5100 shocks for the front and use the OME comforts in the back? this way i can adjust the fronts and still have a softer shock in the back, where most of the harshness that come with lifts comes from...

the way I see it, if people can run 5100s all the way around with this coil set up, or if people can run the n91sc/n86c combo with this coil set up than why couldnt i do 5100s in the front/n86c in the rear?

i guess i like the adjust-ability of the 5100s and the softer cushy feel for the n86c...this rig is strictly on-road at this time...thanks guys!

is it completely crazy to have 2 different brand shocks on the same vehicle?

No its not crazy. From a lot of people that have ran and build lift kits recommend running the OME sports with the OME coils. Just seems to give the best ride. But no its not crazy. I run ome 881's with OME sport comforts up front and LC coils and OEM tokico coils out back. Its not crazy.

OK just making sure im not insane! I mean guys run TRD coils in the front and OME coils in the back, or LC coils in the back and OME up front yada yada...why not use diff. shocks like you?

why do you run the stock LC tokicos in the back as opposed to the OMEs? i read they are a little stiffer than others...thanks

if the billy 5100s are as cushy and comfy as the OME comforts than I would just do 5100s all around...but I do like the adjustability on the front billys

LC coils are soft, the stiffer shock makes them right great. I hate the soft feel of some billies.

I see...thanks for the help...maybe I will get the 5100s all around...
LC coils sound way softer than the OME 906s i just got put on...thats why I am looking for a softer shock!

Yeap. Sometimes they so stiff when flexing it can pick the tire up off the ground.
