Bilstein 4600 install question

Pulling out my old KYB rear shocks . Was a total pain...Took an hour to get the bottom of shock off mounting pin. Finally get it off..Pull out new Bilstein and it has a metal bushing. I can't tell if the old bushing from the kYB is on the mounting pin or if the new Bilstein has to have the bushing removed. Did anyone install Bilstein 4600's and they went on with the metal bushing or did it have to be removed? It won't fit on the mounting pin with it unless I remove what appears to be an aluminum sleeve over the mounting pin. Thanks!

I just put 4600's on two weekends ago (2008 V6 4wd). They mounted directly on the bottom stud. If they are the correct shocks they should slip right on that pin. You may have to gently tap the bottom of the shock but that's all.

If it was that hard to get the old shocks off I wonder if some type of sleeve didn't get galled onto the mounting pin.
