Bilstein 5100... Am I doing this right?

simple

My stock shocks had 3 metal spacers. Bilstien only came with 2. Local mechanic set it up this way with me. Is this right?

And in the first pic the threads are not out of the nut yet. I just started securing it

Looks like it. Tighten them nuts downand you should be good. A little bulge in the bushing is ok when you crank it down.

I would go until you have a little of the stud above the nut.

That looks correct for other shock manufacturers upper and lower shock retainers.

When unwrapping my 5160's, I noticed the instructions indicated the upper and lower retainers were flipped over the other way.
So I called Bilstein and asked the tech if that was correct or was it indicated wrong on the instruction illustration. He informed me the Bilstein wants them installed with the convex on the retainer towards the rubber bushing.
Totally different from what I always did.

Here is a photo of them installed like Bilstein instructed.

In the end, it's your T4R, so install like you wish, but tighten the nut down until you reach torque specs or the nut bottoms out.....
