Bilstein 5100 questions.

You running UCAs?

How'd you alignment come out?

No UCA's yet, so far alignment has stayed in spec. Don't have the numbers in front of me but the truck handles great. I've kept a close eye on tread wear and after about 5K miles all is well.

Thesoundofpanic9 Looks great! I think I have my answer.

Honestly, if I had to do it all over again I'd probably go with the SAW coils, due to the fact that 2" in the rear still leaves a slight rake. 1.5" would sit just about perfect IMO. Still happy with the Icon springs, however, and plan on keeping them for the foreseeable future.

Oh man. This has me rethinking my 5100 setup.
I'm getting all 4 installed tomorrow and I'm setting the fronts at 1.75.

I frequently carry a couple of bikes on my heavy hitch mounted bike rack & I don't want any sagging with that weight or even just with the weight of passengers... Maybe I should go with some rear ICON coils?

Do people often switch read coils only? Rather than all 4?

singletrackftw I'm going to leave the front at 1.75" initially. If it looks funky I'll bump it to 2.5"

Very interested to see how your setup works out.

I'm fairly confident that you'll be happy with the 1.75 front and stock rear. My buddy just lifted his 2011 with the fronts at 2.5 and the rear stock and his doesn't even look bad, the reverse rake is hardly noticeable (and I pay attention to detail). I think the 1.75 front and stock rear will be awesome post pics once you're done!

Rear Coils

Depends on where your weight is. Lots of people just do the front if they have an aftermarket heavy bumper. I highly recommend Icon or even OldManEmu if you don't want to spend a fortune. If you are hauling a trailer or heavy load in the rear, you would want upgraded rear springs.

The only issue is that some of these rear springs, OME, etc might be a little too stiff unless you have major weight in the back end. (like 500lbs, a custom rear bumper, tirecarrier, etc).

Other companies like Eibach offer slightly less stiff coils reasonably priced, that will still give you rear lift if you want, without making your ride so rigid.

I'm gonna try leaving the front set at 1.75" with a 1" spacer in the rear. Not feeling 100% confident in this route, honestly, but I'll let you all know how it turns out.

BamaPanic, that set up is pretty nice. I'll consider that set up when I pony up for bigger tires.

I have mine set at 1.75 and cornfed 1" rear, its prefect for my application of driving and light load when head out hunting, shooting and propecting. I don't have anything to tow. I get no rear sag with passengers and gear.

I have my bilsteins set at 1.75" and stock rear. I still haven't noticed any sagging yet. If i do, i plan on replacing the rears with bilsteins and adding a spacer but i don't do much heavy loading.

Thesoundofpanic9 that sounds like a great option. I'm currently running 265/70/17 Nittos, do you think that would look kind of weird with your recommended setup?

I have 1.75s in front on 265/70/17 Hankook Dynapro ATMs and stock rear. I personally don't feel like it looks weird - I was worried the tires would look tiny but in real life, it isn't that bad.

Well I went for it. 1.75 in the front and stock rear. I absolutely will not EVER use spacers because I don't believe in them. Haha. I'm in love with my new setup.

Also - I now have no rubbing at all in full lock at the fronts where I did before my lift.

Your T4R looks good!

I was going to comment on the Cement color on your T4R......but I noticed it was actually Super White...

Makes me miss my Cement FJTT!

If the 5100s allow for extra down travel on the rear axle, does running them with stock coils and no spacer run the risk of a coil coming unseated at full articulation?

I've spent a lot of time digging around here and can't find any mention of it. Only that the TRD Pro rear shocks allow for about an inch more down travel, and I'm under the impression they run the same rear coils.

No worries on unseating coils....

Yes, the TRD Pro's rear shocks and the 5160's both have an extra 1" of travel, and also run same coils as SR5's and Trails...
