Bilstein 5100 Rear Shock install Problem

I attempted to install the 33-187174 rear shocks and found that the stem on the top of the shock is not long enough to get the bold on when installing with OE bushings..... Anyone els experience this or know what I should do? I re-installed he factory rear shocks for now. I have some ideas to compress the bottom bushing maybe enough to compress and get the top bushing and nut on but I am would be experimenting.

Make sure the bushing is aligned with the shock shaft and the opening, then put a floor jack under the bottom mount (with the shock attached) and raise it slowly until there are enough threads showing to get the nut started.

I had the same issue and had to figure this one out to get it together.

I just guide the top shock mount in with the bushings in place and slowly lower the truck but I have a good floor jack.Watch your fingers!

How do you like this suspension set up? I'm about to be installing the same one!

I love it, rides better looks better. I am considering going with rear lift springs, sits level empty and reverse rake when loaded down. I am looking at 2" -2.5" springs. may even go with OME Lift Springs all the way around. But only because the factory springs have 93k miles on them and figure they are ready.
