BILSTEIN 5100S NEED HELP! Sorry for caps.. Urgent!

So I'm currently trying to install the tundra Billie 5100s but how can I mount them?! Do I need to replace the bushing or what?! Haha currently shock less because I didn't realize this sooner..

Are we talking obviously the wrong size, or once you have the top mounted the bottom doesn't slide on nice? I'm running the same shocks and once the top was mounted I had to beat the bottom bushing on with a hammer. I also jacked around with the axle to try and make the mount post and bushing hole line up better.

The tundra lower shock mount bushing is 0.5" ID and the 4Runner is 0.75" ID. You need to press the bushings out (use a socket that's slightly smaller than the bushing, clamp the shock, and hit it out). Then I used the stock bushings and trimmed them down to fit into the lower mounting hole of the 5100s.

You may also be able to buy the right size bushings at a store and put them in. By the way, we tried drilling the Tundra bushings out and they are hardened steel so I wouldn't go that route. Trimming down the OEM ones with a razor or lathe works fine though.

What? Are you talking about the rear shock bushings? If so then OP should ignore what I said. I had rubber bushings from the get go.

Yea I knew that much. It's just both sets of tundra rears I've seen have had rubber bushings. I knew the front struts had metal bushings but not rears.

Huh, mine had metal bushings front and rear. Maybe they updated the design or something.

The ones I just got in my sonoran steel lift had rubber bushings.

The OP ordered the .75" bushings and will be doing the install when they arrive... Wish I would've known that before I pulled the factory shocks lol oh well

From what I remember reading that's exactly what happened.
