Bilstein 5160 on backorder....getting impatient...

I have new wheels/tires and Bilstein 6112s ordered. What are my options besides just waiting? I would hate for summer to almost be over before getting in my mods.

I've heard some people pairing the 6112s with 5100s in the rear.....read through the entire "when will the 6112s arrive" thread and didn't see that mentioned.

Can the 6112s be paired with anything else in the rear? Should I just default to 5100s all around?

Or I can just take the next step up to like ICON stage 1? I'm not looking for a full 2" in the rear though....can the Icon rear coils be substituted for 1.5" coils or spacers in a kit like that or would it throw everything off?

Or maybe someone can sell me their 5160s LOL.

right but you arent going to hurt anything if you leave them stock. If you are that concerned about it being a limiting factor, rear 5100s are available and cheap. Once you get your 60s sell them used....

You will be surprised on how well the T4 does stock, run it for the upcoming trip then you will really notice and appreciate the upgrades. (And maybe help justify the cost and labor.)

If anyone asks about it, tell them you are waiting as fast as you can.

Yeah, this unfortunately. I guess I'll just throw everything in and deal with the 5160s whenever they pop up.

On a somewhat related note....debating between OME and SAW 1.5" rear coils. Did some research and some older threads from 2011 indicate that both of them are probably closer to 2" and will prob settle to 1.5-1.75"....which is fine, but I was wondering if the manufacturing/machining process has changed any or if that still holds true for both coils? Which would probably give me a truer 1.5" lift in the back?

My understanding is the 1.5" rating is if you have a 3rd row seat. Otherwise its closer to 1.75-2"
 
Help with shocks

Hello all, I am a proud new 4runner owner and the previous owner just put on a new lift, but I am not familiar with it. This lift rides very ruff and doesn't seem to take any objects in the road to easy. This truck rides like a brick on wheels, and I am wondering if any of you experts knows how to soften the suspension a little to make the ride better. This is a Blistine system, but couldn't find anything on how to adjust, or even if this system is any good. I would love to hear from all of you experts out there, Thank you.

:moping:Just a heads up for anyone looking for Billy 5160s, there still aren't any available. No one has them. Apparently, they are on backorder until December...or worse! Then again, if anyone comes across a pair, shoot me a PM!:bored:

Rumor has it that 5160's for the 4Runners might be updated to Late Nov. instead of December. Will update when this is confirmed. Don't hate the messenger guys! Just giving you an update. Thanks!!

BTW, we have PLENTY of the 6112's in stock

I'm still waiting for mine as well. . .mid-to-late December is the latest update I received. Not sure why Bilstein can't produce enough of them to satisfy demand.
 
Dont know how true this is but I called Bilstein a few weeks ago and a gentleman I spoke with stated that they had outgrown facility they were in and moved into a larger one. So they have to set back up and retool their equipment. At that time he said end of December beginning of January.
