several other online vendors have had those listed as "in stock" since this summer, but I called Bilstein back then and was told October/November before they would even start distributing them. They also have them listed to fit a 2011-13 - no reason for omitting the 2010 model.
I too am really curious what these ride like - very tempting for coilover adjustability and shock size for that price.

These are very similar to what the TRDP is using minus the threaded body.

I spoke to a technical representative at Bilstein USA today and he mentioned that the part is in the final stages of development and should be ready by SEMA. :thumb:

Yes, 60mm to be exact (~2.36 in). They already have a setup for some trucks available. The FJ/4Runner/Tacoma is next according to the rep. They showed off some near final production units at the recent Off-Road Expo.

The 60mm bodies are nice, but what valving is going in these? What is the advantage over the 5100, aside from continuous adjustment from 0-2.25" (opposed to preset perch intervals) and slightly improved cooling characteristics?

The appeal to me is an adjustable coil over with spring @ >$400 a pair *CORRECTION - [MENTION=103267]Saker[/MENTION] was given $800 MSRP from Bilstein - see this post* That way I have more money to spend at the mall.
I am curious to know the spring characteristics - surely they are valved to work well with the spring but curious how this spring changes from stock.

what's the old adage? if something is too good to be true, it usually is? I'm probably just being cynical, and for the record, I was pretty happy with my 5100/5160 set up before I started getting into some more serious wheeling.

I was told last year at SEMA that these (just like what is on the TRDP) will have a softer spring rate but more aggressive valving in the shock itself. Supposedly, designed for flying down a trail but good everywhere else too. None of the reps would comment on how a winch and aftermarket bumper would affect the BTS though. At least they are adjustable though.

These look pretty sweet.I researched/googled "Bilstein 46-227294" and came up with all kinds of businesses selling them. Prices were all over the place with many saying they were "In Stock" which I kind of doubt but probably taking (pre)orders to be shipped straight from Billy.
The prices for these seem to be so low, too low actually , and I'm wondering if the prices is for a pair or are they calling each CO a kit and 2 would be needed.

So Bilstein is selling a pair of complete adjustable 60mm CO's for 5th Gen 4Runners and FJ's for $225???? Something smells fishy unless they are getting them made at one of Foxconn's Chinese slave factories.

I'm betting that is for 1 coilover. Still not a bad price though. I may have to jump on this deal.
If you google the part number everywhere does list it as a "kit". shipping weight is 50lbs which would be extreme for one side. Also autoplicity has it for 290 when you use the 20% off so the price isn't that far off. The "BTS kit" for the tundra does include both sides, however the price is about 600 dollars so even if it is 250 per side its a steal.
But if you think, you can buy 5100's and eibach springs for about 350...the 300 range seems reasonable considering its one manufacturer and only one markup.
