Man, getting the original rear shocks off sure was a PITA. I set of vise grips did the trick. I'm wondering about torquing down the top nut on the new shock. I have nowhere to grap on to other than the nut so it's just spinning. What have you guys done to get it down nice and toight? THANKS.

Easy. Pull the blue rubber boot down (it will come down) hold the shock shaft with your vice grips, torque the nut and then slide the boot back into place. The boot has a metal washer on the top that locks it in place. You'll cringe trying to pull it down but trust me, you'll be okay.

I learned just about everything I know about these things here. Always been a car guy and have done most of my own wrenching over the last 20 years but this forum is a wealth of knowledge.

I don't know if you did the fronts too but if so you'll need an alignment. I did all mine at the same time but couldn't get those rear nuts tightened down. I just asked the alignment shop to tighten them down while they had it up on the lift. They ended up doing it for free. That's always another option.
