Bilstein Setting Advice (with new MOOG springs)

2004 SR5 4WD (132k) - My rear struts are leaking and were likely never replaced by the original owner, so it’s time for an upgrade. I’m planning to replace my stock suspension this month and my plan is to get some Bilstein 5100 struts all around and also replace my springs at the same time - likely MOOG 81045 (rear) and 81090 (front). I’d like to get the truck as level as possible so I’m hoping to get some advice. My initial plan was to set the Bilsteins at 0.85, but with the new front springs will this need to be at 1.75 (or will the new rear springs account for this diff)? I’d rather get it right the first time! Thanks for any advice!

some people prefer higher look, im at .85 with moog fj springs all around. feels fine for me, just dont forget to readjust the headlight after everything, mine was pointing way high.

the ratio of front lift to rear to gain a level vehicle is around 2:1 ie: 1" up front none in rear or 2"s up front and 1" in the rear. Also the bilstein c-clip location results are based on an OE suspension. It doesn't compensate for the suspension sagging over time due to mileage. I think that if you went with the .85 c-clip setting you might end up with more than .85"s of lift. So that might be a safe bet. Remember you can always change it too.

not sure if this will help but i used the moog fj front springs and the moog 4runner rear springs (81045) with the bilstein 5100s. the bilsteins are set on the lowest level and my truck is pretty level

they are the 81108. it greatly improved the ride. i put the bilsteins on first with my 200k mile factory springs and didnt care for the ride much. after i put these springs on, its like a new truck. definitely more firm but no where near harsh to me.

i did have to cut about an inch of the pig tail off on the bottom of the 81045s to get them to seat all the way on the rear spring perch.
