This kit is pretty much the same kit from what im reading as the 4runners. Little different tuning. This should work for you t4r.

I'm gonna call around tomorrow to see if I can find one local, if not I'll be ordering from the same place you did!
I'm not looking to lift higher than level so this should work perfectly.
You're installing these on a 4th gen based on your signature right?

Hope not. 4th gen and 5th gen front shocks are not even close to the same and will not work. Rear coils are the same, rear shocks are different.

Should work because the kit is for FJ Cruisers. Think the top hat of coilover is same? Rear shocks are same but may have different size lover mount bushing that is able to be modified. We will see...

4th gen and 5th gen front shocks are very different. As far as I know, FJ uses the same front shocks as 5th gen. I suppose you can confirm once you give it a shot. I know my 5th gen has the shaft between the shock body and the bushing. 4th gen doesn't and the top hats are different.

The shock in pic on top is like the shock I have, which is similar to what my 5th gen had and my Tacoma. The pic of shock on bottom is like my 3rd gen 4runner had. My 4runner is a 2006
EDIT: just went outside to check again. I have the shaft before bushing. I figured because I was about to do a trd taco coilover and shock conversion that has shaft and bushing style. I think you were confused with 3rd gen 4runner which has shockbody to bushing

Possible but I could swear my neighbors 2005 had the shock like in the lower picture. Who knows, I'm no expert in the earlier gen 4R If I wasn't into a bigger lift, I would be all over this deal.

Getting rid of debt. Trying to buy a home. I’ve had nearly every gen of t4r and Tacoma, the one I miss is my 5th gen. Maybe again some day.....

Posted this on a local forum and a member commented that the 600lbs springs are really stiff. They are running a bumper and winch too.

600lbs being really stiff? I had 600lb einachs on my 5100 setup before and it was perfect. Rode better than stock. Now im sure if you have too much preload spacer on them they may be stiff but the setup on them now is probably perfect. But 600lb is probably not even enogh if your gonna run a plate bumper and winch. Im thinking ill probably need to order new springs for my set i ordered. Maybe some 650lb or some taller springs so it will lift higher. But my intention with the kit i ordered is to use the toytec preload spacer they sell and add maybe a 1/2” top plate. Correting the lean will be simple. Its setup now for that
As someone already mentioned. They are the same, they may have slight differences in tuning. But im sure nothing major. Just could be differences in shock coil spring rate too. I just bought a set. The set is for FJ. Im installing on a 4th gen 4runner

I am new to the 4Runner. My other vehicle are a built 100 and stock 200 series.
Question, Are we certain that this kit will work with a 5G. I just bought a 2018 ORP with KDSS. I was planning to add the PRO suspension. Not certain of differences between two kits.

My understanding is that PTR13-35140 is for a FJ. But will fit a 5th gen for about $500.
Part # PTR13-89160 is for a 4 runner that I see still currently for about $1600.
From previous comments, It seems like it's the exact same set up but maybe different valve tuning between the FJ and 4 runner.
The reason why I haven't pulled the trigger yet is if PTR13-35140 is pre-tuned for a FJ, what will the ride quality be if installed on a 4 runner. Not sure if it even makes a difference or if we will even notice the ride quality.
So if anyone has experience.. Please let us know

I ordered the kit yesterday. I’m installing my kit on a 4th gen 2006 4runner.
I can’t imagine the valve tuning being that much different IF any difference.
I am only using the fronts. The only thing I will be doing is adding the toytec spring perch spacer they offer for 1” more lift OR I am trying to see if I can just order a new set of lift coils to get 2.5” lift then add a top plate spacer for additional. All I have read is these are 1” more lift already from stock on a fj since this is a fj Trd Pro kit. I pulled the trigger because for $478 bucks for the kit was crazy cheap. Better already than a 5100 setup for sure. Hell, I spent way more than that for my 5100 set from toytec last year. Lol. But hope it works out for the 5th gen t4r and get it will. I looked up just the rear shock bilstein 5160 at toytec and its 400 a pair! Nearly the price of a whole kit.
